Harrison Ivaz

Up-and-coming jazz guitar stylist and singer-songwriter Harrison Ivaz is one of BC's fastest-rising young artists. Harrison Ivaz’s melodic original music fuses influences from jazz, rock and R&B with humor, sophistication and style. From guitarist in the "A" Band at BC's famous Capilano University Jazz Studies Program to sitting in with jazz greats, Harrison is a dynamic new artist. Harrison is excited to pay tribute to one of his favorite guitar heroes, George Benson with The Benson Project. Featuring top young talents, the Benson Project captures the elegant virtuosity, soulful vocals and inspiring artistry that has made George Benson one of the world's greatest performing legends.


Harrison has performed at iconic North American festivals Lollapalooza and Milwaukee Summerfest, at the Zentsura AT Festival in Bilboa, Spain, and won first place in the 2013 British Columbia Youth Week Amplifier Music Competition. Harrison has also performed at Simon Fraser University, the West Vancouver Harmony Arts Festival, The Vancouver International Children’s Festival and at The Whistler summer concert series. He was a PNE (Pacific National Exposition) Talent Competition Semi-Finalist two years in a row. A trained actor, Harrison is a captivating bandleader who delivers the goods -- an outstanding show every time. Harrison’s original anti-bullying rock anthem and music video “Sweet & Sunny”, written by Harrison at age 12, is at over 57,000 views on YouTube and shared by anti-bullying organizations throughout the US and Canada. Harrison is also an actor and has appeared on TV, in radio commercials and in theatre productions, including the lead in a mounting of the vocally-challenging Willam Finn musical “Falsettos” produced by Patrick BC’s acclaimed director Peter Jorgensen.
